Townsend Rotary welcomes back Jennifer Chamberlin

On Oct 9th, 2018 Townsend Rotary welcomed back Jennifer Chamberlin as a member.  Jennifer was previously a member of the Townsend Rotary and has rejoined the Rotary Club.  All Rotary members were excited to have Jennifer back with us.

Rotary President Jeff Langlinais inducted Jennifer back into the club membership.

(Townsend September 22) On September 19, 43 arborists and other volunteers from Helena, Great Falls, Missoula, Bozeman, Townsned, and Livingston gathered in Helena at the Ft. Harrison State Veterans’ Cemetery and VA Fealth Care System Facility as part of the second annual Helena Saluting Branches event. 

Rotary Inducts 3 new Members

On Tuesday Sept. 11 the Townsend Rotary Club inducted 3 new members:  Jennifer Lane, Kris Nunn and Jodi Toney. Rotary Club president Jeff Langlinais introduced the new members and  Rotary District Governor Rick Moore (Helena Rotarian) performed the induction of the new members.

After the induction one member noted that the 3 new Rotary members lowered the Club's average Age. Another member noted that they not only lowered the average age but raised the average IQ of the Rotary Club!

 

Interact Club hosts Freshmen Orientation

On August 29th the Townsend Rotary sponsored Interact Club hosted a Freshman Orientation/Team Building event at Heritage Fun Park. The purpose of the event was to help the incoming Freshman Class adapt to being in the high school environment and build a team attitude for the entire class.

The event was sponsored by the Interact Club, the Broadwater Schools, the Rotary Club and the Broadwater Community Foundation.

Townsend streets and Heritage Park will become one of Montana’s best Art & Craft Shows!

In Townsend, starting Friday, October 5th you will begin seeing 10x10 squares of pavement on South Pine and B streets and grass in Heritage Park magically transform into boutiques, furniture stores, clothing shops, art galleries and cafés. They will be open for business Saturday from 10am-6pm and Sunday 10am-5pm. Some will be open Friday night when Fall Fest kicks off with world-famous brats, Fall Fest specialty micro brews and live bands.

Rotary’s Slice of Summer Ends with a Flourish!

The 2018 Rotary Slice of Summer celebrations ended with a special flourish on August 16th. Free youth activities included swimming, face painting, four bouncy toys, and the Elkhorn Community Fellowship climbing wall. Rotary sold Full Beli Deli pizza and cotton candy. The Lions sold hamburgers, hot dogs, and nachos. The Close Up kids sold ice cream, root beer floats, beverages, popcorn, and candy to raise money for their trip to Washington, DC.

Townsend Rotary Installs new Officers for 2018-2019

On July 10, 2018 the Townsend Rotary Club installed new officers for the 2018-2019 Rotary Year.  Over 40 people had a picnic at Heritage Park as Jeff Langlinais assumed the role of club President from Laura Obert.

Remembering the Holocaust

On June 12 nearly 70 people gathered at the old Masonic Hall to hear Walter Deege speak about his life in Germany during the Holocaust.  While Walter and his family were not jewish his father was sent to a concentration camp where he died.  Many non-jewish people were sent to the concentation camps for any activity that offended the Nazi party.

Rotary’s eighth annual Slice of Summer celebration is Thursday June 21 at Heritage Fun Park. Free kids’ activities during the afternoon and evening include free swimming, face painting, the Elkhorn Community Fellowship Church climbing wall, and a bouncy house.
