On Tuesday November 17, 2015 the Ryland Foote "Fun for Life" foundation, Townsend Rotary Club and Helena Sunrise Rotary Club sponsored a Trivia Night event at the American Legion Hall. Benefits from the Trivia Night event went to the Ryland Foote "Fun for Life" foundation.
Over 100 people came to the American Legion Hall to participate in the first annual Townsend Trivia Night. The Helena Sunrise Rotary Club sent several members to run the Trivia Night contest. The Helena Sunrise Rotary Club runs a Trivia Night event once a month at the Staggering OX in Helena. Townsend Rotary has a delegation of Rotarians that regularly attend the Helena Trivia Night. Last summer, the Helena Sunrise Rotary Club suggested holding the event in Townsend and offered to come to Townsend to run the event as a fund raiser for the Ryland Foote "Fun for Life" foundation.
In addition to the Helena Sunrise Club members that attended and the local people from Townsend, Rotary District Governor Bill Spath and his wife Mary Lou attended the event and were members of the winning team of Rotarians.
The event raised over $1000 for the "Fun for Life" Foundation. In addition, the Helena Sunrise Club donated their share of the event to the "Fun for Life" foundation. The Ryland Foote "Fun for Life" foundation funds goes toward providing scholarships for art, music and theatre for the Townsend grade school students. In addition, the Foundation funds various projects for the Townsend School systems supporting the arts.
