Judy Schenk is a very active Townsend Rotarian who contributes to the community in many ways.  Born in Minnesota, Judy's family moved to Hall, Montana (near Drummond) when she was in the first grade. Judy attended grade school Hall and attended high school in Drummond  her Freshman and Sophomore years. After  Her family  then moved to Three Forks where Judy finished high school.  After graduating from Three Forks High School, Judy moved to Spokane and attended Kinman Business College.

Judy worked for the State of Montana in Helena for a short time before joining the United States Postal Service.  She worked for the USPS in Missoula and Billings before becoming the PostMaster in Fairfield. After retiring from the Postal Service Judy moved to Townsend to help take care of her Mother. Judy fell in love with Townsend and decided to make it her permanent home. Judy joined the Townsend Rotary Fun Club to meet people in the community. She has become a very involved Rotary member serving in various offices and currently on the Rotary board. Judy volunteers to help out with almost all of the Townsend Rotary activities.

In addition to her career with the Postal Service, Judy is an accomplished artist. For about 10 years Judy regularly attended art shows and festivals throughout Western Montana including the Helena area.  Her art included Stained Glass and Tole Painting.  Judy is a VERY accomplished Stained Glass artist and has made a number of stained glass clocks.  The picture on the left shows Judy holding one of her stained glass clocks.

Judy is an avid physical fitness practioneer and works out at the Train Station Gym almost every morning. She has ridden her bike in charity events including a 26 mile marathon ride in a Diabetes charity event. Last summer Judy and her daughter ran in the Missoula half marathon finishing 6th of more than 50 participants in her age category. Judy trained for more than 6 months for running the half marathon and had a great experience -- although she is not anxious to do it again anytime soon.

This year Judy retired from her second career working at the Townsend Drug and Liquor Store. After spending about 9 months being retired she recently went back to work as a bookeeper for her brother Denny at Townsend Flooring.  Judy plans to get everything caught up by the end of the year and work part time from then.
