Interact Club 2018 Team Building for the "21's"

Every year the Townsend Rotary Club send 4-6 high school students to the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy for a week long leadership training camp.  The students participate in a variety of events designed to develop their leadership skills.  Every attendee has come back home very happy with the time they spend at RYLA and feel it was truly a life changing event.
 

Rotary 2018 Holiday Party

On Jan 6, 2018 the Townsend Rotary Club held our annual Holiday Party at the old Masonic Hall in Townsend -- courtesy of the building owner Tina Edelblut.  Dinner was catered by Chef Rex Dunbar featuring brisket, smashed red potatoes, salad and rolls.  The Rotary members and spouses contributed deserts in the Great Holiday Dessert competition.

The Rotary members performed an hilarious skit "Bus Ride to Everywhere" with vignettes highlighting different themes.

Rotary Partners with Artisans On Broadway

The Townsend Rotary Club is partnering with Artisans On Broadway to offer art programs to the residents of the Broadwater Health Center Nursing Home, Silver Springs Assisted Living and Serenity Point Assisted Living.  Last year Pam Sample, owner of the Artisans on Broadway Gallery started visiting the Senior homes and conducting free art projects with the residents of the facilities sponsored by The Townsend Rotary Club.  Artisans On Broadway plans to offer art projects to the Seniors every quarter throughout the year.
 

Local Rotarian Elected President of Montana Seed Trade Association

At the Montana Seed Trade Association (MSTA) Annual Meeting in December, local businessman and Rotarian, Gord Pearse, was elected President of the Montana Seed Trade Association (MSTA) for two years.  Gord has been a Director of MSTA for four years.  Local MSTA members are Bruce Seed Farm, Rocky Mountain Supply (Townsend Seeds), and Circle S Seeds.  The complete MSTA membership and goals are listed on the MSTA website www.mtseedtrade.com.

 

Townsend Trivia Night Funds Interact Scholarship

On Thursday November 2, the Helena Sunrise Rotary Club and the Rotary Club of Townsend sponsored Trivia Night at the American Legion in Townsend to raise money for an Interact Scholarship for a Townsend Interact Club student.  The Rotary Club of Townsend is currently helping form a brand new Interact Club for Townsend Youth.  Two of the potential new Interact Club students attended Trivia Night.

Broadwater County History Presentation - Nov 7th

Native Broadwater County resident, Vic Sample will present a talk on Broadwater County history, Tuesday November 7, in the Community Room on the Townsend schools campus.  Vic recently presented the talk to the 7th graders at Townsend Schools at the Canton Church.  People who heard his talk have asked him to present it to the general public.  Please join us at 7 pm.  Snacks and refreshments will be served.

Fall Fest 2017 Starts Friday September 29th

Local business are decorated, jumbotrons are running, and “Tow Mater” and the other bale creations are up.  It’s time for the Townsend Rotary Club Fall Fest!  Friday, in Heritage Fun Park, local Rotarians, spouses, friends, volunteers, and vendors will be setting up a stage, canopies, and tents to entertain the public and sell their wares.  The Rotary Club has been a major provider of entertainment in Broadwater County since 1939.

Zombies Invade Montana

News reports from all over the country were raving about the infection quickly consuming the nation.  People were suffering from flu-like symptoms and quickly dyeing within a week.  It was suspected that it all began from a cruise ship passenger returning home from a cruise through South America.  He had gotten adventurous chasing
