The Rotary Youth Leadership Acadamy is a Rotary sponsored event for high school students. The RYLA attendees attend a week long camp where they learn about leadership qualities and skills as well as team building with diverse people. During the week at RYLA
Jeff Langlinais and his wife, a native Montanans, moved back to Montana from Houston where Jeff worked as an engineer for an Oil company. Luckily for our community, the Langlinais chose to buy a home in Townsend. Jeff believes in contributing to the community and early this year decided to join the Townsend Rotary Club.
The Rotary Club of Townsend started it 77th year of service with a pot luck at Heritage Park on June 28th. Ross Johnson, replaced Jennifer Dalrymple as 2016-2017 Club President. Jen was thanked for her service to the Club in the past year. Jennifer has served as President in two different years because of her military commitments.
Gerald Rodacker was inducted into the Rotary Club of Townsend Wall of Fame on June 28. The Wall of Fame Award is the highest honor a local Rotarian can achieve. Not many members qualify for this award. Of the hundreds of people that have been members of the club since 1939, Rodacker is only the seventh member to receive this award. On Tuesday June 28, the Townsend Rotary "Fun" Club had a pot luck meeting at Heritage Park and installed a new club President, inducted new members and gave awards to Rotary members.
Broadwater County and the City of Townsend are working together to form a City/County Liaison Committee to work together on the three interlocal agreements we have: Law Enforcement, Prosecution and Judge.
If you are interested in serving as the County at-large appointee to this Liaison Committee, please submit your name, full contact information and a brief summary of your interest to the Broadwater County Community Development and Planning office by 5pm Friday, July 8, 2016. A decision will be made Monday, July 11, 2016.
