Rotary Honors Gerry Rodacker

Gerald Rodacker was inducted into the Rotary Club of Townsend Wall of Fame on June 28.  The Wall of Fame Award is the highest honor a local Rotarian can achieve.  Not many members qualify for this award.  Of the hundreds of people that have been members of the club since 1939, Rodacker is only the seventh member to receive this award.  To qualify for the award a Rotarian must have been:

Broadwater County/City of Townsend Liason Committee

Broadwater County and the City of Townsend are working together to form a City/County Liaison Committee to work together on the three interlocal agreements we have: Law Enforcement, Prosecution and Judge.

If you are interested in serving as the County at-large appointee to this Liaison Committee, please submit your name, full contact information and a brief summary of your interest to the Broadwater County Community Development and Planning office by 5pm Friday, July 8, 2016. A decision will be made Monday, July 11, 2016.

4H Kitchen New Ranges Challenge

The Townsend Rotary Club has spearheaded an effort to redo the kitchen cabinets in the 4H building at the Fairgrounds.  The 4H building is heavily used for large events that seat from 50-250 people.  The $14,000 kitchen job is estimated to be completed by June 30 for a cost of less than $4,000 thanks to many generous donations of labor and materials.  The project has grown and not only are the cabinets being completed, but new countertops have been installed, the kitchen walls, ceiling, and floor have been painted, two new windows have been installed
