On February 13, 2018 the Rotary District Governor (District 5390 - Montana) Joe McBride and his wife Libby McBride visited Townsend and the Townsend Rotary Club. Pat Platenberg and Ross Johnson took Joe and Libby on a tour of Townsend and the many projects the Townsend Rotarians have completed or participated in getting done.
Afterwards, Joe and Libby attended the Townsend Rotary Board Meeting and the regular Townsend Rotary Club meeting both held at the Legion Club. During the Board meeting, Rotary memberThunder Boone gifted the Rotary Club with an offer to print 50 Fall Fest T-Shirts from her new printing business. Thunder was thanked by the board and by District Governor McBride personally.
After a great Rotary pot-luck dinner the Townsend Interact Club founders (high school students at Broadwater High School) were introduced to the Townsend Rotary Club. District Governor McBride thanked the Interact Founders and noted that there are only about 6 other Interact Clubs in the Montana District. The Interact Club founders were presented with Rotary Certificates of Appreciation signed by the District Governor.
The last event of the evening was a "Roast" of Pat Platenberg in which MANY Townsend Rotarians participated and the announcment that Pat is being inducted into the Townsend "Wall of Fame" - a very small group of outstanding Townsend Rotarians.
