(Townsend) (June 7) — The Rotary Club of Townsend has invited Walter Deege to speak at their Rotary Meeting June 12 at 7 pm in the Community Room on the Townsend School District #1 Campus at 201 North Spruce Street. Walter will share his experiences as a young boy in the Netherlands during WWII. His is a first-hand account of the terror his family endured during the Nazi occupation from its prison system to their concentration camps. The program and narrated slide show will last about ½ hour. Because of the special program, Rotary has invited everyone to attend.
The Rotary Club will start with committee meetings at 5 pm, followed by a Board Meeting from 5:30-6:30 pm. Their regular meeting will start at 6:30 and end by 7 pm in time for the Holocaust presentation. Please join us.
