(Townsend December 1) On Thursday November 29th, the Rotary Club of Helena Sunrise and the Rotary Club of Townsend sponsored their annual Trivia/Chili Feed fundraising event for a Townsend cause. This year the $1,342 raised will be used to help pay for the Rotary-sponsored youth Interact Club service trip to Guatemala. The kids will be spending some time in June helping a group called Maya Pedal modify bicycles into machines that can be used by local villagers without power to grind flour, pump water, etc.
Eight teams and a total of sixty people participated in the trivia contest. All Interact Club members are honor students. Two of them were judges for the evening. Several others were auctioned off to the highest bidding team. At stake was a traveling trophy most recently won by the Hospital Auxiliary Aces team at the Broadwater Education Foundation trivia contest. One of the Rotary Club of Townsend teams called Rotary Won took the prize.
The Rotary Club of Townsend and the Interact Club members would like to thank the Helena Sunrise Club and several members of the Helena Noon Rotary Club for attending the event.

Interact gives students ages 12-18 the chance to make a real difference while having fun. The Interact Club is sponsored by the local Rotary Club of Townsend. When you sponsor an Interact club, you’re helping young people: connect with community leaders, develop leadership skills, make international connections, and discover more opportunities to connect with Rotary, including Rotaract (students ages 18-30), Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), and Youth Foreign Exchange.
