Townsend Rotary Thanks Fall Fest Sponsors, Volunteers and Local Residents

Submitted by Pat Platenberg on Sun, 10/23/2016 - 12:57

On Friday October 21, the Townsend Rotarians had a party to thank everyone who helped make the 2016 Fall Fest a success. Rotary invited the sponsors who paid for the music, sound system, stage, and jumbotron.  Other festivals like the Red Ants Pants Festival in White Sulphur Springs cost up to $65/day to attend.  As a result, families with children seldom attend those costly events.

Rotary invited the volunteers that worked at the event.  These volunteers help set up, sell beer and brats, help run the car show, and help clean up.  Volunteers also give the Rotarians a chance to rest a little on the busy weekend.

Rotary invited the neighbors around Heritage Park.  These neighbors have to put up with traffic, blocked driveways and parking areas, music and general noise, and other inconveniences during the weekend.

Many people make the Townsend Fall Fest a unique community and regional event.  Thank you all.
