Townsend Rotarians gathered together at the American Legion Club to celebrate fellow Rotarian Joe Coyne's 70th birthday.
Under intense questioning, Joe revealed that he was born in New York City. After serving in the millitary, Joe returned to to NYC and applied to Columbia University under the GI bill. He was accepted and earned a degree at the prestigious Ivy League school.
Joe ended up living in Hawaii working as a teacher teaching English as a second language. He lived in Hawaii for 37 years before returning to the mainland.
Joe and Thunder currently live in Toston where they operate a horse rescue operation.
