Every year Townsend Rotarians gather at the end of November to head to the Elkhorn Mountains in search of pine trees to "plant" Phil's Forest at the intersection of Highway 12 and Highway 287. The goal is get the trees up and get them lit before the annual Townsend Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Stroll.
We recently spotted Wendy Gravely's second grade class at Phil's Forest decorating the trees with their hand made decorations!

On Saturday, November 26, Rotary Club and Tree Board members finished lighting up the business district for the Holiday Season. It has been a Tree Board tradition for over 10 years to light up the business district trees. Rotary members have helped more and more
